Building Excellence: Darryl Bryant
Darryl Bryant serves as the In-House Electrical Team Supervisor for FSU Facilities. He celebrated 25 years at Florida State in February 2026, having begun his career as a Senior Electrician in the Electric Shop before advancing into his current leadership role.
Before joining FSU, Bryant worked as a journeyman electrician for several electrical companies throughout South Georgia and North Florida. After graduating from high school, he earned a degree in Industrial Electricity, building the technical foundation for a career dedicated to electrical systems and operations.
In his current role, Bryant coordinates with customers across campus to meet a wide variety of electrical needs. His team is responsible for installing temporary power for special events throughout the year, including FSU Athletics for gameday operations. Works closely with departments to understand their goals, develop a plan, and ensure each project is completed successfully.
Bryant starts each morning by meeting with his team to review priorities, assign work, and make sure everyone is aligned on the day's objectives. From there, his day may include meeting with customers to discuss upcoming projects, visiting job sites, and ensuring work is progressing safely and efficiently.
As a lifelong FSU fan, Bryant says preparing campus for football season is his favorite part of the job. He takes great pride in making sure every electrical system needed for game day is ready to perform. "We look at this as our showtime," he said. "Win or lose, if we have no game day glitches, we are winners."
Outside of work, Bryant enjoys spending time with family and friends and values opportunities for fellowship. Whether it's gathering to watch a game or traveling together, he appreciates making memories with the people who matter most.
