Performs maintenance, testing, and repairs on the University’s emergency power systems, including generators, transfer switches, and related components, while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards. Maintains diesel-powered emergency equipment, manages emergency supplies, and supports Facilities Maintenance operations through vehicle use and related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on the University emergency power supply system. Ensures that all are operational by performing periodic tests on generators, automatic transfer switches, annunciator panels, and associated components. Conducts load test per NFPA requirements.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on the University emergency supplies (primarily diesel cycle prime movers), including but not limited to, battery chargers, coolant flush, oil change, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, etc.
  • Maintains necessary supplies to handle emergency situations.
  • Operates University vehicles and performs other related work as required in support of Facilities Maintenance.
