Master Craftsman Studio's first federally approved monument is the United States Air Force (USAF) Memorial at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Completed in 2023, the 8-foot-tall by 4-foot-wide structure was commissioned by the Air Force Association (AFA) Chapter 419 and honors the remarkable service and sacrifice of USAF personnel. The production process involved several steps, including water jetting, welding, tapping, and dyeing, followed by powder coating. The Memorial is a significant addition to the National Cemetery's landscape and is larger than surrounding monuments. Located along the Cemetery's Memorial Walk, each polished panel conveys a powerful message. The north-facing panel honors current and former service members, including POW/MIA and Gold Star Families, and features the Arnold Wings. The east-facing panel displays the American flag and the USAF insignia with the year 1947, marking the USAF's independence. The south-facing panel depicts the Bomb Burst Maneuver with three contrails and the motto "Aim high... fly-fight-win." Finally, the west-facing panel includes the AFA emblem of Chapter 419 and the dedication date. Master Craftsman Studio focused on the Memorial's visibility and durability. They selected powder-coated aluminum for its cost-effectiveness, lightweight nature, and resistance to oxidation in humid environments. In collaboration with Tallahassee Welding, they ensured the aluminum would be protected for 5 to 7 years. The Memorial is also made from 1/4" and 3/8" steel, with large mounting brackets securing the pieces to each other and to a 3-foot-by-5-foot concrete base. This one-of-a-kind monument is a permanent fixture in a solemn location, providing a space for reflection and remembrance. Master Craftsman Studio is grateful to AFA Chapter 419 for their partnership and trust in creating a symbol of gratitude and respect for the courageous men and women who have served their country.
